Gogo Signs Russell Wilson as Gogo 5G Ambassador

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Gogo Business Aviation has signed Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson to be a Gogo 5G ambassador.

As the company’s ambassador, Wilson will serve as a spokesman for the company, appear in a variety of marketing materials, and will speak to his use of Gogo’s service while flying.

“Between football, family and business, being connected in the air is vital to me and that’s why I am excited to join the Gogo team and help others take part in the Gogo 5G network, which will change the travel experience for good,” said Wilson. “Whether I’m FaceTiming with my family, going over plays with teammates or working on off-field ventures like the Why Not You Foundation, I know the value of a strong Wi-Fi connection. Gogo is the only connectivity I’ve ever had on my plane because it’s the only one I can always trust. I can’t imagine flying without Gogo.”

“We’re thrilled to have Russell join the Gogo team,” said Sergio Aguirre, Gogo’s president and chief operating officer. “He’s been a longtime Gogo customer, so he knows firsthand the value of Gogo’s inflight connectivity. 5G will take his Wi-Fi experience to another level. He’ll be an expert resource and trusted voice for other business aircraft operators about Gogo 5G.”

Wilson’s image will first appear in Gogo’s tradeshow booth at the National Business Aviation Association’s annual convention and exhibition (NBAA-BACE) on Oct. 18-20 in Orlando. Gogo will also have his aircraft on display at the Orlando Executive Airport, highlighting the Gogo 5G antennas on the belly of the aircraft and the installation of the L5 system with the full 5G provisional kit.
