Aircell Axxess Satcom Receives EASA Certification for Challengers

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES [Dubai Airshow] – November 11, 2007 – Aircell announces that it has received EASA certification for its Aircell Axxess® EZ satcom system aboard Bombardier Challenger 600, 601 and 604 business jets. The system is now being offered to Challenger operators with special, reduced pricing available for the EASA certification package.

Originally introduced late last year, Aircell Axxess EZ was specifically designed to reuse the MagnaStar system’s existing aircraft wiring and component locations, reducing installation downtime. Aircell Axxess EZ also gives operators the option of retaining key legacy system features, such as call alerting and integrated fax capability, when replacing their MagnaStar.

“We’re pleased to add this Aircell Axxess STC in Europe and look forward to offering the system to additional Challenger operators,” said Jean-Luc Rosenfeld, Aircell’s European sales & operations manager.

The initial Challenger certification was completed aboard a CL-604 aircraft by RUAG Aerospace Services in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. “With its worldwide voice capability and the ability to interface with Aircell’s new SwiftBroadband system when it becomes available next year, Aircell Axxess is an ideal communications platform for the Challenger series,” said Jörg Gorkenant, Director Avionic Engineering, RUAG Aerospace Services gmbH. “The first customer is very happy with the system,” he concluded.

Many of Europe’s most respected installation facilities are Aircell dealers, including RUAG Aerospace Services GmbH, Business and Commuter Aircraft (Lyon, France), Stork Fokker AESP (the Netherlands), and Sabena Technics (Dinard, France). Aircell continues to be active with European airframe OEM’s and their U.S. counterparts, including Dassault, Piaggio and Pilatus. Aircell systems are also operating aboard the fleet of Europe’s leading fractional ownership operator. Aircell has EASA Part 145 approval (certificate reference number EASA.145.5595).

Aircell satcom systems are in the EASA certification process for several additional aircraft types, with completion expected soon.
